For an abdominal ultrasound, we recommend arriving fasting, ideally 6 to 8 hours before the examination, and avoiding carbonated drinks and heavy meals. For ultrasound examinations of the kidneys and urinary bladder, a full bladder is required, so we recommend drinking approximately 1 to 1.5 liters of water about one hour before the examination. No special preparation is needed for ultrasound examinations of the thyroid gland, neck, soft tissues, lymph nodes, or salivary glands.
Do I need a referral for an ultrasound examination?
You do not need a referral or doctor’s recommendation for an ultrasound examination (USG, sonography) at the Dermarevolta clinic.
