Yes, we perform video rectoscopy at the clinic. It is an endoscopic examination of the rectum with a slim instrument fitted with a camera, which sends the image to a monitor, so you see the findings together with the doctor.

During the procedure itself you feel no pain — only a slight pressure or touch. After the anaesthesia wears off, the area may be mildly sensitive for 1–2 days, but you can manage this phase with ordinary over-the-counter painkillers and sitz baths. After more complex procedures, for example treatment of more extensive haemorrhoids or a chronic anal fissure, the treated area is usually mildly sensitive for 3 to 7 days. Laserová metóda LHP, which we use most often for haemorrhoids, significantly speeds up healing compared with conventional surgery. Post-operative care includes sitz baths with oak bark, thorough hygiene and, if needed, over-the-counter painkillers.
