How does Dermapen treatment work?
Dermapen uses disposable microneedling cartridges with an automatic vibration system. These special microneedles gently and rapidly puncture the skin vertically to a depth of between a quarter and two millimetres. The frequency and depth of the punctures can be adjusted according to the area being treated (from 25 to 90 times per second). The skin's own defence mechanism releases growth factors that stimulate skin cells to produce collagen. At the same time, new skin cells are formed. This new tissue fills in the micro-channels created by the needles, increasing the skin's overall volume. Thanks to the collagen produced, the skin becomes firmer and significantly more elastic.

How long will the skin take to heal?
The regeneration process takes four weeks, although the first results are usually visible after just one treatment. After the procedure, your skin may appear red for 12 to 48 hours. We recommend repeating the treatment after 3 to 4 weeks. If you are due to have further injectable fillers, it is advisable to carry out the Dermapen treatment 1 to 2 days beforehand.
How to care for your skin after Dermapen treatment?
Your doctor will recommend suitable aftercare. The skin must be kept well hydrated at all times, and you should not experience a feeling of dryness. Serums containing hyaluronic acid or vitamins may be applied to the face. Protection from UV radiation is essential to help prevent complications such as pigment changes. From the day after treatment, you can use breathable make-up.
