Hair mesotherapy is one of the treatment options for hair loss and for supporting hair growth. The greatest advantage of this therapy is its ability to deliver active substances directly into the deeper layers of the scalp. As hair follicles lie deep within the skin, this method allows us to stimulate them effectively and supply the nutrients needed to support hair growth.
How does the treatment work?
Using fine needles, a treatment solution containing vitamins, minerals, coenzymes, trace elements, peptides, antioxidants, amino acids and other active ingredients is injected into the scalp. The aim is to support the scalp environment and hair-follicle function; the microinjections may also temporarily increase local blood flow. The clinical response varies depending on the cause and extent of hair loss, and the treatment cannot guarantee new hair growth.
Hair mesotherapy is followed by a 10-minute LED therapy session, during which light of a selected wavelength is directed at the treated area. This is used as a supplementary procedure intended to support cellular activity in the scalp; the expected benefit is assessed individually.
Will it hurt? How should I prepare?
The treatment is generally not painful, and we aim to make it as comfortable as possible for the patient. We recommend getting a good night's sleep beforehand, coming in with a positive mindset, and discussing any concerns with the doctor before the treatment to help reduce unnecessary stress.
What is important before the treatment itself?
Before starting hair mesotherapy, an initial medical and trichological assessment is recommended. The doctor will evaluate the likely cause of hair loss, decide whether further tests are needed and discuss whether mesotherapy is a suitable option and what results can realistically be expected.
Is there a risk of allergic reaction during application?
The treatment solution contains a combination of ingredients of non-animal origin, which may reduce—but does not eliminate—the risk of an allergic reaction. Please tell the doctor in advance about any known allergies or previous reactions to injectable products.
Does the treatment need to be repeated?
Yes, hair mesotherapy needs to be repeated to achieve a noticeable effect. The number of sessions is individual and depends on the extent of your hair loss. Treatment usually begins with intensive weekly sessions, later moving to two-weekly or monthly intervals depending on the results achieved.
Does mesotherapy have any side effects?
Temporary redness, tenderness, mild swelling or small bruises may occur at the injection sites. These reactions usually improve within 24–48 hours. Infection or an allergic reaction is uncommon; contact the clinic if symptoms are severe, worsen or persist.
