Mole examination

Mole Examination and Check-up in Bratislava

At the Dermarevolta clinic, we combine modern technology with an individual approach to each patient. Using a digital dermatoscope, the dermatologist assesses every mole during the examination and check-up, and if needed, recommends the next steps, including safe removal.

Reasons for a preventive mole check

  • Be alert if a mole has suddenly darkened, changed shape, or become asymmetrical or irregular at the edges.
  • An increase in a mole's diameter beyond 6 millimetres is an important warning sign that calls for an immediate check-up.
  • If a pigmented lesion on the skin becomes itchy, weepy, painful or starts bleeding spontaneously, don't delay seeing a doctor.
  • Lesions located in areas of constant friction, such as under a belt or bra strap, carry an increased health risk.
  • A history of skin cancer or melanoma in your blood relatives significantly increases your genetic predisposition.
  • Repeated severe sunburn in childhood or frequent unprotected sun exposure increases the risk of skin changes.

Why trust Dermarevolta with your mole checks?

Appointments at a fixed time, with no waiting

We value your time, which is why we schedule mole examination appointments for a specific hour. This removes the stress and long waits in crowded waiting rooms that are common at state facilities.

A focus on prevention and minimal scarring

In diagnostics, we place a strong emphasis on prevention. However, if a suspicious mole does need to be removed, we use fine instruments and plastic surgery techniques to keep the resulting scar as inconspicuous and aesthetically acceptable as possible.

Oncological safety and histology

Health comes first, so every removed pigmented lesion is routinely sent for histopathological examination. This allows the biological nature of the lesion to be determined as accurately as possible.

Painless procedure and modern technology

Dermatoscopy itself is completely non-invasive and painless. If a surgical procedure is required, it is carried out gently under effective local anaesthesia. The patient feels only a brief, mild pinch when the anaesthetic is administered; the rest of the procedure is then comfortable and pain-free.

Comprehensive care under one roof

We ensure a smooth process from the dermatologist's assessment of the mole, through any necessary surgical procedure, to suture removal and follow-up. Everything is taken care of conveniently, quickly and safely in one place at our clinic.

Outpatient care with no hospital stay

Neither mole examinations nor day-case surgery require an overnight hospital stay. Procedures are quick and place minimal strain on the patient, so after treatment and aftercare advice, you can head straight home to recover in comfort.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions (FAQ): Mole examination and check-ups

Dermatologists recommend a preventive mole check-up at least once a year. If you have a fair skin phototype, a larger number of pigmented moles, or a family history of melanoma, it is advisable to have a check-up every 6 months. Early diagnosis using a digital dermatoscope is one of the most effective ways to help prevent skin cancer.
A full-body mole examination with a manual dermatoscope costs €65, with digital dermoscopy €100. If you only need one mole checked, dermoscopy of a single naevus costs €20 manually or €40 digitally. The clinic is private and has no contracts with health insurance companies, so the examination is paid directly at the clinic.
With both methods, the doctor assesses moles under magnification. With digital dermoscopy, images of the moles are also saved, so at the next check-up the doctor can compare them and detect even small changes in size, shape or colour. Digital examination is therefore especially suitable for people with many moles or for regular monitoring.
No, you do not need a referral from your GP for a mole examination at Dermarevolta. We are a private dermatology clinic without contracts with health insurance companies, so you can book an appointment directly, either online or by phone. The examination takes place at a precisely arranged time, with no unnecessary waiting.
Absolutely not. Dermatoscopic mole examination is non-invasive, safe and painless. The dermatologist places the digital dermatoscope on the surface of the skin and examines the structure of the pigmented mole in detail under magnification. The whole examination takes only a few minutes and is also suitable for children.
If the doctor finds a suspicious mole or skin lesion during dermatoscopy, they will recommend its safe surgical removal. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthetic, is painless and takes only a few minutes. The removed mole is then sent for histological examination, which precisely determines its nature.
Yes, we also offer mole examinations for children. Children's skin is sensitive to sunlight, and pigmented moles can change as the child grows, which is why regular check-ups are important. We approach young patients with sensitivity and patience so that the examination is calm and stress-free.
